TAP Air Portugal Collaboration with Brazilian Tourism Sector

TAP - Conexão 2023

Finally, the “Conexão TAP 2023” project took to the air, a giant step toward strengthening relations between TAP Air Portugal and Brazilian tourism. It was decided that the first stop of this initiative—dialogue and cooperation between the airline and main representatives of Brazil’s tourism industry, with whom TAP has a historical relationship—would be Natal.

The inauguration of “Conexão TAP 2023” witnesses the proof of its commitment to deepening its engagement with the Brazilian market, which is one of the most strategic and significant international routes operated by the company. TAP is joining the trends of this sector, the challenges, and the opportunities that position it as a proactive partner in the development of tourist infrastructure in Brazil.

For Carlos Antunes, TAP’s director for the Americas, what is important in this initiative is to have the local tourism industry aligned very closely with TAP. “Our closeness to the sector of tourism is essential to the growth and development of the market,” said Antunes. “We should consider the industry’s current demand so that, in the near future, we can act very responsively. Opening the 2023 Conexão TAP calendar in Natal takes a special meaning since it holds a 24-year historical relationship with our city.”

TAP Air Portugal has long been among the top carriers that have air-connected Brazil to Europe and other parts of the world. The company flies regularly to the following key cities in Brazil: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Recife, Fortaleza, and Natal. These are important business links between businesspeople and tourists that transform TAP into a tool of cultural exchange and economic relations between Brazil and Europe. Its extensive network and quality service make TAP the preferred company of many passengers in Brazil.

The event in Natal brought together some of the key faces within TAP’s leadership, such as Douglas Lima, Head of Marketing, and Mastrângelo Silva, TAP’s Airport Manager in Natal. Their presence underlined the carrier’s commitment to having a strong on-the-ground presence in Brazil, whereby the company’s strategies are aligned to the local market conditions.

The “Conexão TAP 2023” event had the presence of a very diversified group of travel agencies, demonstrating the great support to this initiative. Among the participating agencies were Aerotour, Prime, Michelle Tour, Harabello, Ponta do Sol, KLP, Sunline, Arituba, Ícaro Tur, Foco Operadora, CVC Corp, Flytour, and Brementur. In effect, these travel agencies are decisive for TAP’s operations in Brazil, since they advertise and sell the airline’s services.

Today, starting in Natal, a whole schedule of activities takes place within “Conexão TAP 2023,” as the airline aims to expand its presence and deepen its relations with the entire country of Brazil. In this regard, TAP wants to form a stronger and more active alliance with the local tourism industry so that it will turn toward the new demands of the global traveling market without ever deviating from its tradition of high-end service for its customers.
